Executive Overview

FitPulse is an athletic telemetry mobile app that transforms raw device accelerometers into an intelligent workout tracker that auto-counts repetitions and evaluates biomechanical velocity in real time.

Core Engineering Challenge

Sampling sensors at 120Hz on JavaScript threads locks the UI, causes dropped animation frames, and drains phone batteries in under 2 hours.

Distributed Node Topology

Data pipeline flow and computational delegation across system layers:

NODE 01CoreMotion / NDK
Hardware Layer
Tri-axial accelerometer & gyroscope
NODE 02C++ 20 TurboModule
C++ DSP Engine
Low-pass filter and peak cadence detection
NODE 03CoreHaptics
Haptic Dispatcher
Synthesized tactile vibration patterns
NODE 04Reanimated 3
UI Visualizer
60 FPS heart-rate zone shader canvas
Architectural Strategy

Built a native C++ TurboModule that hooks directly into iOS CoreMotion and Android SensorManager. Mathematical peak detection runs on an isolated background thread, passing only clean summary events to the UI thread.
